What to expect:
Located in a quiet hotel zone north of downtown's traffic, families are attracted to The Caravelle Golf & Family Resort for its pools and
beachfront locale. Golfers come year-round. Although the resort does not have its own golf course despite its name, guests have playing privileges at the private Dunes Golf and Beach Club,
which is less than three miles away. (Guests age 20 and younger are not permitted at the resort unless accompanied by an adult).

Water attractions include a complex with a 65-by-30-foot pool; a children's pool; a 40-foot children's lazy river pool, and a 15-person
spa tub--all sheltered in winter by a translucent roof. Adjacent is a seasonal, outdoor, 100-foot oval lazy river pool and a 15-person spa tub. A solarium offers a year-round, 45-by-12-foot
pool paired with a four-person spa tub. Outside, another four-person spa tub provides open-air soaking.
Insider tip:
The Southern Elegance Casino Cruise Ship, docked 15 miles north of the resort, provides complimentary transportation to guests of the
hotel to the ship.
Property Amenities
A complimentary cocktail party on Thursday nights offers hot and cold appetizers, beer, wine, and soft drinks. A laundry room contains coin-operated machines. A game room provides coin-operated video games. A complimentary fitness center contains cardio and weight machines. A small store sells groceries, beer, wine, and sundries. (Two supermarkets are one mile away.) A lobby kiosk offers high-speed Internet access (surcharge).
In summer, complimentary, supervised activities are available for children during the day, with surcharges for certain arts and crafts and for a weekly evening pizza party.

Rooms
The resort offers 620 air-conditioned guestrooms, suites, and two- and three-bedroom condominiums. With the exception of the three-bedroom condominiums, all accommodations feature balconies offering ocean views. All accommodations provide either a full kitchen or a kitchenette that includes a four-burner range, a microwave oven, a full-size refrigerator, a toaster, a coffeemaker, and comes with dishes, glasses, flatware, and cookware. Decor features tropical furniture and pastel fabrics.
Two-bedroom condominiums are located in a seven-story oceanfront building that includes a private, seasonal outdoor pool. Three-bedroom condominiums are located in a 12-story building set 1.5 blocks from the beach that includes a private, seasonal outdoor pool and does not provide an ocean view.

Recreation
Water attractions include a complex containing a 65-by-30-foot pool; a flower-shaped children's pool; an oval, 40-foot children's lazy river pool with tubes, and a 15-person spa tub. In winter, a translucent roof shelters the complex, with the roof removed in late spring to late fall. Adjacent to the complex is a seasonal, outdoor, 100-foot oval lazy river pool with tubes and a 15-person spa tub. On the hotel's seventh floor, a solarium offers year-round swimming in a 45-by-12-foot pool paired with a four-person spa tub. Outside the solarium, another four-person spa tub provides open-air soaking.
The beach lies just over wooden stairs protecting beach grasses. Umbrellas and chairs are available for rent. Between the resort's main building and the beach, an expansive lawn offers lounge chairs for sunbathing.
A water sports center 5.5 miles away offers a wide variety of rental equipment, including personal watercraft and windsurfers, and books parasailing flights and banana boat rides.
Although The Caravelle Golf & Family Resort does not have its own golf course, guests have playing privileges at the private Dunes Golf and Beach Club, which features an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. that has hosted PGA Senior Tour tournaments and the Women's U.S. Open.
